LAUNCH: Printer in Residence
20 November 2024
Please join us in celebrating the end of Keg de Souza’s 2024 Printer in Residence in the Piscator Press Studio and the launch of her creative work. This latest product is part of Keg’s ongoing collaboration with Elders and brothers Uncle Doug Archibald and Uncle Norm Archibald, who are from the Gumbangirri clan of northern NSW and have lived on Awabakal Country since childhood. Keg’s work tells their shared stories of Eucalyptus trees marking sites of significance – a two trunked tree marking a camp location and a scar tree – in letterpress print. These works will sit alongside printed bark and leaves Keg has permission to take from Country for this project. Copies of these collaborative art works will be included in the Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections as well as exhibited at MAC Yapang in December 2024. The Printer in Residence program is made possible through the support of the Friends of the Library. Date Thursday 21 November 2024 Time 6-8pm Location The Piscator Press Studio, level 1, Fisher Library, University of Sydney |
